We have everything you need to start your Air Plant collection!
- “Planting” your Air Plant:
Select from our small circle, large circle, capsule or tear drop Terrariums. You can also place our small bags of stones, sand and moss to build your own Terrarium with the Air Plant of your choosing.
You can also choose from any of our small flower pots.
Even set your Air Plant on our drift wood, grape wood, tobacco lath grate or in a wall hanger to create your own display.
Air Plants can be placed in or on any type of material that does not hold moisture. They enjoy bright, indirect light whether it be from indoor lights or the natural light from the sun. If placed in more direct light, the plant’s moisture will sooner be depleted which will then lead to the Air Plant needing to be watered more often then usual.
- Feeding your Air Plant:
Air Plant food has the perfect balance of nutrients to keep your Air Plant healthy. Just mist plants once a week until the foliage is completely wet.
And YES! Your Air Plant does need water. Though they grow without soil, water is essential. Either twice a week mist your Air Plant until it is saturated (you should still soak once every 10-12 days) OR you can soak your Air Plant in a bowl (or sink) for 10-20 minutes once a week (two or three times a week for optimal care). After watering, gently shake the plant to remove excess water. Before placing the Air Plant back in the Terrarium or pot, make sure the plant is completely dry. NOTE: a plant in bloom should not be submerged in water but should just be rinsed instead!
- Air Plant Maintenance:
It is very normal for your Air Plant’s bottom leaves to dry out as your plant grows. Those leaves can gently be removed from the plant. Any dried out leaf tips or roots can be snipped off without any damage to the plant.
